Andy Hunter along with Simon and Gill Carrington ably assisted by Steve Ashton are planning on cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats in memory of Andy's well loved and deeply missed Newfoundland. All monies raised will go to the Newfoundland Welfare and Rescue who look after the breed in the UK including all the usual rehousing and other requirements that come from dog ownership. Whilst you might not have a direct affiliation with this breed we need to support such organisations in an era where fundraising is more and more difficult to achieve. Please support as a fellow animal owner or just because you think we might deserve a little support for our madness.
The Tour itself is 1050 miles over 13 days but more than that it is nearly a years training from relatively unfit to hopefully rather more fit and slightly less portly than when we decided on this epic trip.
If there are any Newfie's out there that would love to have a trip out to meet us and share a little slobber, see if you can talk the person that looks after you in to taking you to meet us.
Look at the route and come and join us for a ride, a beer or just to support and keep our spirits up
The Southern Newfoundland Club are collecting donations via PayPal. Please click the button below to show your support, however small, or large!
Want to ask a few questions about our trip the just drop us a line and we will respond asap.
A few pictures of us in training and a few of Brody himself.
Well Brody's Tour as a ride is now completed, we will upload pics on here and a few of the days reports over the next couple of days. It has been a fantastic experience made even better by the people we have met and of course the Newfoundlands we have met on route thanks to you all. The Donate button will remain "Live" until the end of November, as we still have a couple of fundraisers planned for October and November
